It's a special occasion at Architecture when one of the labels core artists returns to the fold with new music. The Original Dreadlock Warrior, 4 Horsemen Chief, and legendary DJ - The Grim Reaper: Loxy. Undisputedly respected across the D&B scene as one of the most stand alone, ground breaking DJ's, Loxy's reputation as a key taste maker and champion of new sounds and artists is recognized worldwide. His pedigree as a producer is well documented as well, his "Rufige" sound influencing a legion of artist's under him. Here Loxy returns to right hand man Ink's imprint with four cuts of trademark warrior dub, forward leaning Drum & Bass.

"White Lotus" intro's with Samurai battle drums, pouring rain, sword sweeps and Japanese wood winds creating an immersive sonic image of the Shogun period. A Brief silence sets up the massive natty bass line, while choice jungle breaks swap in and out over the main tribal drum bed. Classic Loxy!
Title track "The Author" see's Loxy teaming up with fellow Hardware and Exit alum Genotype to take matters into deep, low slung territory. Hypnotic kick drums, eerie sounds, dub effects and a vicious, gurgling bass line combine to icy, spine tingling effect.
on "Righteous Path" Loxy and Genotype build sublime arpeggio skanks, tribal percussion, tape delay vocals and a vintage sounding Sly & Robbie bass line with marching woodblocks and selector effects creating another stellar piece of 170 bpm future Dubwise to add to Loxy's long standing catalog of similarly influenced productions.

"Cold Crush" features Loxy and Genotype bringing Mortem into the studio with them for some early morning, refresher dubwise. Utilizing a steppers drum bed and system crushing low end growl, replete with reverberated rim shots, cowbells and uplifting atmospherics and melody. An expertly crafted piece of Speed Era Jungle referenced with a distinctively current approach.
With this EP, Loxy's continues to press forward with his brand of Drum & Bass, encompassing core elements of Jungle but always with a progressive future edge, exactly the reason why he remains one of the most consistently fresh and exciting DJ's and Producers in the genre year after year.
