Coming off the back of a very strong year which saw much sought after and heralded releases on 31 Recordings, Samurai Music and Paradox Music, Toronto stalwart Gremlinz revisits the lead track off his "Fallen EP" released a year ago on Ink's seminal Architecture imprint.
Gremlinz and Ink rope in three current contemporaries of the sound they helped shape in Drum & Bass today to lend their angle to "Fallen"
First up, "Fallen"(original mix) is Gremlinz one solo turn on this project, a firm statement of intent that solidifies the veterans mastery of his own sound. The seemingly subtle roll of the beats is underpinned by a ruthless screw face b line and slashed in and out with vicious break switches. Murky bleeps and bloops combine with hair raising pads evoking a rising spooky tension that never lets up for the full duration of the track. An absolutely sinister lurker of a tune.
